He was captain of the Liberty County, Texas, sheriff 's posse for more than 20 years and was a member of Highland 's Masonic Lodge in Batson, Texas. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father and grandpa . He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Edmond Deason. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Camille D . Deason of Hardin, Texas; three sons, David Deason of Lufkin, Texas, Phillip Cox of Hardin, and Robert Dunn of Pilot Point, Texas; three daughters, Sonya Deason Blaydes of Lexington, Ky., Julie Guinn of Mansfield, Texas, and Terresa Irby of Hardin; his mother, Retha Deason of Pitkin; three brothers, Don Deason of Egan, Texas, Elzia Deason of Pitkin and Milford Deason of Deer Park, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
