Ehlert, 78, longtime resident of the Stanhope Webster City community, died early this morning at the Golden Age Nursing home in Webster City, where he had been residing the past two months. He had been in ill health the past two years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with the Rev. Enoch Hall officiating with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9.30 a.m. Monday, when it will be taken to the church.... Read More	Ed F. Ehlert Dies at 78 Ed F. Ehlert, son of Fritz and Fredreka Ehlert, was born Oct. 20, 1888, in Germany. When he was 13 years old, he came with his brother, William Ehlert, to the United States, and they made their home with an aunt and uncle at Clinton, Iowa. He was united in marriage Jan. 19, 1921, at Denison to Lena Boger, and the couple farmed near Denison until 1933, when they moved to a farm, north of Webster City. Mr and Mrs Ehlert farmed in the Webster City, Blairsburg, and Radcliffe communities until 1942, when they moved to a farm south of Stanhope. In 1949 they moved into Stanhope, it has been their home ever since. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters, Carl Ehlert of Hillsboro, Ill , Loren Ehlert, Stanhope, Robert (Dewey) Brown, Dayton, Iowa, who was raised in the Ehlert home, Mrs Don (Lorraine) Brandrup, Webster City, : and Mrs Richard (Delores) Arends, Stanhope, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, Carl Ehlert, Alden, Avold Ehlert, Clinton, Mrs Walter (Hattie) Koenigsberg, San Diego, Calif , and Mrs Marie Austin, Elgin, III. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Mr Ehlert was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope.
