Marquart, 87, Byron, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, at Blue Valley Lutheran Home, Hebron. Mr. Marquart was born Feb. 19, 1908, at rural Byron and was a longtime resident of rural Hardy and Byron. He had been a farmer and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, and Byron Lions Club. His first wife, Metha, died in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Anna of Byron; a stepson, Willis Kettelhut of Deshler; four stepdaughters, Verla Heitmann of Hardy, Leora Freitag and Jeanette Mohrmann, both of Bryon, Joanne Gass of College Station, Texas; four brothers, Wilbert of Byron, Lester of Lincoln, Raymond of Superior and Dr. O.K. of Alamogordo, N.M.; two sisters, Lydia Dittmer of Byron and Theresa Peters of Superior; 17 stepgrandchildren; and 27 stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, Pastor Robert Hoeft officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Byron. Marquart Edward Henry Fred Marquart, son of Benhard and Emma Gebers Marquart, was born February 19, 1908 at rural Byron, Neb., and died January31,1996 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home of Hebron at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 12 days. He attended school at Fairview. He received his religious instruction at St. Peter Lutheran Church where he was baptized on March 8, 1908. He was confirmed September 4,1921. He was united in marriage to Metha Bohling on April 18, 1932 at Hickory Grove Lutheran Church of Auburn, Neb. Following the death of his wife in 1975, he was married to Anna Hoops Kettelhut on August 11, 1979 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of rural Byron. He moved to rural Hardy, Neb., in March 1946 and farmed there until his retirement. Following his marriage to Anna he moved to Byron. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Byron, Byron Lions Club, Senior Citizens Organization. He was also a member of the State Line Band of Byron in his youth. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Emma. He is survived by his wife Anna of Byron, one step son, Willis Kettelhut of Deshler, four step daughters, Verla Heitmann of Hardy, Leora Freitag of Byron, Joanne Gass of College Station, Tx., and Jeanette Mohrmann of Byron, four brothers, Wilbert Marquart of Byron, Lester Marquart of Lincoln, Neb., Raymond Marquart of Superior, and Dr. O.H. Marquart of Alamogordo, N.M., two sisters, Lydia Dittmer of Byron, and Theresa Peters of Superior, 17 step grandchildren and 27 step great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 1996 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Byron with Pastor Robert Hoeft officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Byron.
