Description	:	Edward John Vogel, 88, died at Mahaska County Hospital Friday morning after being in ill health for the past two years. Born December 2, 1884, in Clear Creek Township in Keokuk County, he was the son of Peter and Margaret Conrad Vogel. He married Catherine Dumont August 1, 1908 in Harper. He farmed northwest of Sigourney until moving into town in 1952. For the past several years he had made his home with a daughter in Sigourney. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cloyd (Erma) Grimes of Ft. Collins, Colo., Mrs. Dorothy Conklin of Sigourney; a son, Kenneith of Sigourney, six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Victor of Keota; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Dumont of Keota, Mrs. Minnie Osweiler of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Lena Osweiler of Torrence, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1954, a granddaughter, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney with the Rev. F. E. Lollich officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Funeral Chapel here.
