Description	:	Edward Joseph Hoarty, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hoarty of Grafton, Neb., was born November 14, 1908. He departed this life June 2, 1961, at George Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C., aged 52 years, 6 months and 18 days. He had been in failing health the past two years. Read More	Edward Joseph Hoarty, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hoarty of Grafton, Neb., was born November 14, 1908. He departed this life June 2, 1961, at George Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C., aged 52 years, 6 months and 18 days. He had been in failing health the past two years. The day preceding death, he entered the hospital and was administered the Last Rites of the church. He was a graduate of the Grafton high school and in 1933 he was graduated from Creighton University with a degree of Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to the bar in Lincoln. Before and during World War II he held government positions in the District of Columbia, with the exception of a few years in Omaha. The Rosary was said Tuesday evening at St. Helena's Church in Grafton. A Requiem High Mass was sung Wednesday morning, June 7. Interment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Grafton. Pallbearers wee Frank Sharkey, John Fitzgerald, Tom Griffin, William Becker, Michael O'Brien and Eugene Jennett. Surviving are four brothers, Leo, Verne, Frank and Ray; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Anna) Deveny and Mrs. J. R. (Zita) Walter. The Nebraska Signal June 22, 1961 page 4.
