Description	:	Zita Katherine (Hoarty) Walter was born to John Vincent Hoarty and Mary Jane (Egan) Hoarty on May 21, 1895, at Grafton, and passed away on August 15, 1987, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 24 days. She was one of eight children in the family. She was one of eight children in the family. Zita spent her entire life in the Grafton community, attending Rural School District 14 near Grafton, Sutton High School and the Immaculate Conception Academy, Hastings, graduating in 1913. She taught school at Inland, eight years at District 14, Grafton, also attended summer school in Kearney. Zita was married to Jacob Walter at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Grafton on August 25, 1926. Her life was devoted to helping others, especially in the field of education. She was a dedicated member of St. Helena's Catholic Church, Grafton, where she served as organist many years. Zita also worked in Grafton Post Office as postal clerk for some time. Zita was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladys; husband, Jacob; and five brothers, Leo, Vern, Frank,Ray and Edward. She is survived by one sister.
