Ludwig and Miss Louise Ludwig of Carroll, who died Wednesday morning at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's Church here, with the Rev. L. Schenkelberg reading the requiem mass. Burial will be In the family lot in the parish cemetery. The body will be taken to the Ludwig home on north Main street to rest there until the hour of the rites. Funeral services are under the direction of the Gregory funeral home. Kdwnrd J. Ludwig, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Ludwig, pioneer residents of Carroll, was born here Aug. 13, 1902. After attending the parochial and public schools, he began working as messenger boy for the late E.J. Pelsue in the local Western Union Office, he completed his course in telegraphy, at Valparaiso, Ind. Taking a position as telegrapher in the uptown offices of the Western Union Telegraph Company at Kansas City, he retained this position until his death, having worked there for twenty years. June 30, 1936, Mr. Ludwig was married to Miss Betty Shelton of Kansas City. Surviving with his wife are his brother and sister above named, Charles C. Ludwig and Miss Louise Ludwig both of Carroll. His mother died Sept. 9, 1938, and his father, Jan. 10, 1933. One brother, William Ludwig, passed away at Pomona, Calif., about twenty years ago, and another brother, Frank Ludwig, died at San Francisco June 24, 1938.
