Nephew Is Foreman Of Jury. ______ Struck and knocked down by an automobile truck while walking on the State road near his home in the Mariners' section of Crisfield Thursday morning, Edward L. Nelson, an aged resident of this community, sustained injuries which resulted in his death two hours later. Mr. Nelson, who was 82 years of age, started across the road a a truck driven by Luther Bosman of Fairmount, coming to Crisfield, approached. After reaching the middle of the road Mr. Nelson evidently saw the truck, and fearing he could not get across, started back again. He stepped back in front of the machine, and although the driver made every effort to clear Mr. Nelson, the machine struck him, knocking him to the roadway. The truck was immediately stopped and the injured man taken in and rushed to the Edward W. McCready Memorial Hospital. He was in an unconscious condition when he reached the hospital, and died about 12 o'clock, noon, two hours after the accident. Mr. Nelson was one of Crisfield's oldest and most highly respected citizens, and was a farmer by occupation, although his advanced years had prevented him being very active recently. He was a man of high character, a good citizen in every sense of the word, and his sudden death is a source of grief to a wide circle of acquaintances. He is survived by a widow and one daughter; also five nephews, John B. Nelson, Winfield S. Nelson, Thos. Nelson, Wm. Nelson, Wesley Nelson, and numerous other relatives. Mr. Bosman, who was driving the truck that killed Mr. Nelson, lost his own father in an accident which involved the same truck, about three weeks ago.
