Read More	Boone County Democrat November 3, 1905 Edward Leo Garvey, a prominent young farmer of Dodge Township, and youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Garvey, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed families in the north part of the county, passed away at his home north of the city at 4:00 o'clock Monday morning, October 30. He had been suffering for several months past with what was thought to be inflammatory rheumatism, but was thought to be improving and his family and friends had had reason to hope for his complete recovery, but Saturday evening pneumonia set in and in his weakened condition he was unable to stand the dread disease and sank rapidly until the end came, as stated above. The funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart church at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning; Requiem high mass was celebrated by Father Saunders, who spoke a few brief words of comfort to the sorrowing relative and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery, followed by the largest funeral cortege seen in Boone for many years. The deceased was well known and highly esteemed all over the north part of the county and almost the entire population turned out to pay a last tribute to his memory. Edward Leo Garvey was born in Boone County April 21, 1880 and was in his twenty sixth year at the time of his death. Two years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Delilia Lindmark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lindmark, and to them were born two children, who with the widow are left to mourn the sad and untimely death of a loving and devoted husband and father. He also leaves his aged parents and four brothers and three sisters, Mrs. John McGlynn, Mrs. Peter McGlynn and Mrs. James Gamble, to all of whom is extended the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.
