Description	:	Cameron - Edward O'Neal Barber Sr., 73, of 6150 Cameron Road, Cameron, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Young officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Barber was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late James William Barber Sr. and Flossie Shumaker Barber. He was retired from the City of West Columbia after 11 years of service. He was a former assistant manager for A & P Grocery Store in Columbia for 20 years. Mr. Barber was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He was former Cub and Scout Master for Troop 358, West Columbia. He was the recipient of "The Greatest Grandfather of the Year" award presented at the 2001 SC State Fair. Survivors include his wife, Ross Mole Barber, of the home; a son, Edward O'Neal Barber Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Rock Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Lila Ruth Shealy and husband, David, of Lexington and Ms. Rebecca Elaine Newman, of West Columbia; three brothers, James W. Barber Jr., of Orangeburg, George A. Barber Sr., of Orangeburg and J. Ryan Barber Sr., of West Columbia; two sisters, Mary Alice Porth, of Lexington and Mattie Mae Pooser, of Orangeburg; five grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Barber, Victoria and Kayla Newman and Sydney Shealy. The family will receive friends from 6to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the residence. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 427, Cameron, SC 29030.
