Milford Olson in charge. Burial was in Laurel Hill cemetery at Neligh beside his wife. Eddie Perry Van Kirk was born June 1, 1874 at Sherburne, Fleming county, Kentucky, son of James and Martha Van Kirk. He passed away January 3 in an Omaha hospital at the age of 76. He was the last of a family of seven boys and one girl and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. At the age of 12, in 1886, he came to Antelope county with his mother and the family. They resided on a farm in the Willow valley, where he grew to manhood and spent most of his life. December 8, 1897 he was united in marriage to Daisy D. VanGilder, who preceded him in death 19 years ago on Jan. 4. To this union were born four sons and two daughters, all of whom survive. They are Archie P. of Norfolk; Wilfred H., Russell, Dorsey O., all of Omaha, Mrs. Katherine Darrow, also of Omaha and Mrs. Ruby Miller of Brunswick. Fourteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. He had been a member of the Congregational church of Burnswick for many years and had spent his entire life in business activities in Antelope county. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Art Darrow and daughter, Ronnie Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Van Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Van Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Anderson, Mrs. Elaine Bordson and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Karstner, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Dent Van Deveer of Creighton; Virgil Van Kirk of Madison; Mrs. Ella Van Kirk of Plainview; Mr. and Mrs. James VanKirk of Neligh; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Van Kirk Sr., Miss Ruby Joan Van Kirk and Mrs. Gertrude Chamberlain, all of Norfolk and Archie Van Kirk Jr. of Creighton. ...The Creighton News 8 January 1951
