Edwin was born Jan. 30, 1922, to Jacob and Emma (Schroeder) Pinkelman in Wynot. He married Anna Wiepen May 9, 1945, in St. Helena. He grew up and lived in the Wynot and Hartington areas all of his life where he farmed. Edwin was a member of St. Philip and James Catholic Church, St. James; a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters for over 50 years, and a former school board member for District #32. He loved to play cards and was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Anna, Hartington; seven children spouses, Reinold and Bernadine Pinkelman, Tyndall, S.D.; Darlene and Dave Ausdemore, Valentine; Dolores and Dale Lammers, Hartington; Jerome and Sandy Pinkelman, Yankton, S.D.; Denese and James Benscoter, Parkston, S.D.; Deanna and Tim Osienger, Thedford; and, Dion Pinkelman, Hartington; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Julius Pinkelman, Wynot. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Leonard Pinkelman, and a sister, Irene Kleinschmit.
