Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kohler Mortuary Chapel in Sutton. The Rev. Carol A. Prochaska will officiate. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1934 and attended the University of Nebraska for two years majoring in sports journalism. In February 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was stationed in Kansas, Arkansas, California, New York and Florida. He married Laurietta Burbach on Sept. 21, 1942, in an outdoor ceremony near the Sutton German Evangelical Church. After the war, they returned to Sutton to run the Fuehrer's Market. His wife died July 15, 2001. He was a member of Federated Church and a more than 50-year member of Sutton American Legion Post 61. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Linda Fuehrer of Kearney; a daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Jim Adkins of Lincoln; and two grandchildren.
