[Edyth Alma] OVERMYER, 61, prominent local clubwoman and church leader, died suddenly at 2:15 o'clock this morning from a heart attack suffered at her home four miles east of Rochester. Mrs. Overmyer had not been ill and her death came as a shock to her family and friends. Mrs. Overmyer, nee Edyth Alma KINGERY, was born Aug. 11, 1895, in Rochester and had spent her entire life in the community, graduating from Rochester high school. Her parents were Hiram and Minnie CAPLINGER KINGERY. She was married in Rochester Oct. 31, 1914, to Charles S. OVERMYER, who survives. Mrs. Overmyer was a member of the First Christian church where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship work as well as other church activities. She also was a charter member of the Child Study club and a member of the Woman's Club and the McKinley home demonstration club. She had served as president of all these organizations. Her clubwork also included active participation in Fulton County Federation of clubs projects. Surviving, besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. William (June) BRINKROEGER, Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Jack K. OVERMYER, editor of The News-Sentinel; and four granddaughters, Laura, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jennifer OVERMYER. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. CDT Thursday at the First Christian church with the Rev. James KIMSEY officiating. The Rev. Fremont WILLMERT of the Trinity E.U.B. church will assist.
