Wallace, of the Mariner's section, died at her home Wednesday night, after a protracted illness, aged 73 years. Mrs. Wallace had been in poor health for several years and during the summer just past she grew gradually worse until death claimed her Wednesday. She was a daughter of the late Azariah Nelson and Mary McCready Nelson, and thus a member of a family descended from King Nelson. The Nelson family has been identified with the founding and development of this county, many of its members haying been leading business men and political and social figures from time to time. Mrs. Wallace had resided here all her life and the beauty of her character had endeared her to friends and acquaintances who watched her declining health with anxiety and learned of her passing with sadness. She had for many years been a member of Mariner's M. P. Church where she attended with regularity as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Wallace was a sister of the late John Bun Nelson and of the late Captain Winfield S. Nelson, and is survived by two brothers, William B. Nelson, of Matthews county, Va., and James Wesley Nelson, of San Jose, California. Funeral services will he held this Friday afternoon at her home on the state road near Mariner's, and interment will be made in the Nelson family burial lot.
