Description	:	Ed was the 2nd of four children born to James Tennie and Ruth (Vanover) Swindall. Ed was born and reared in Dickenson County, Virginia; went west about 1900 (age 22); was a planerman/mill worker with Agnew Lumber Co. most of his life. In 1903, he married (1) Ada Maddox, and in April 1911, (2) Amanda Roasch, daughter of Frederick and Minerva (Jalkey) Roasch of Cobelentz, Germany in Everett, WA. Ed was born and reared in Dickenson County, Virginia; went west about 1900 (age 22); was a planerman/mill worker with Agnew Lumber Co. most of his life. In 1903, he married (1) Ada Maddox, and in April 1911, (2) Amanda Roasch, daughter of Frederick and Minerva (Jalkey) Roasch of Cobelentz, Germany in Everett, WA. Ed was a member of the Pentecostal Church; and lived at 1017 D St, Centralia, WA. He was fondly remembered by relatives and received with open arms when he returned to Dickenson County in November 1947. While in Dickenson County, a gland on the side of his neck became sore and swollen. This was diagnosed as cancer and he soon returned home. On an October 1949 tour, E. J. Sutherland, Hetty Sutherland and Anita Swindall stopped for a brief visit with Ed and found him very ill and not expected to live through the winter.
