Read More	Eileen Colley, in her own words, embarked on a great adventure on Jan. 18, 2004. Eileen requested that we not dwell on the fact that she has left us but celebrate the life she shared so readily with all of us. Her presence in our everyday lives will be greatly missed but she has left so much of herself with us, it will seem that she is always near. Over the last year and a half, Eileen has struggled to overcome one medical problem after another yet she was determined to be strong and win. Even though she lost this last battle, she has shown us that even when you are down, you live your life to the fullest and you never give up. Eileen was born on a ranch at Suce Creek in Paradise Valley south of Livingston to Harrison Lee Jordan and Rubie Mae Forney Jordan on March 14, 1927. Eileen lived in Paradise Valley until 1931 when she moved with her parents to Townsend, where they owned and operated a dairy for five years. They moved back to Paradise Valley in 1936 and lived on Barney Creek. Eileen attended Townsend Elementary School and Rosedale Rural Grade Schools. She graduated from Park County High School in Livingston in 1945. Eileen married Emmett Lee Colley at the Pine Creek Methodist Church, south of Livingston on Sept. 14, 1946. They lived at Montana State Fish and Game fish hatcheries at Anaconda, Emigrant and Lewistown before moving to the Bluewater Fish Hatchery near Fromberg and Bridger in 1951 where they resided until Emmett was transferred to Helena. It was at Bluewater that Eileen and Emmett raised their three children. We will never forget all the special things that she did to create a world full of love and happiness. Eileen worked at the Bridger and Fromberg Post Offices from 1966 to 1977. After moving to Helena, she worked for the Veterans Administration at Fort Harrison from 1978 to 1987. Eileen was a member of the Laurel Methodist Church, Laurel United Methodist Women, NARFE; DAV Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. Eileen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Emmett; son Gary and wife Susan of Laurel; daughter Marlene Peters and husband John of Littleton, Colo.; son, James and wife Donna of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eileen is also survived by her sister Mona Burtch; brother Russell Jordan; brother Larry Jordan; and sister JoAnn Piazzola. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marge Bruning. Memorials in her name can be made to the Laurel Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Laurel United Methodist Church. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel was in charge of services and cremation. Posted Helena Independent January 20, 2004 (Ashes were buried 13 July 2007.)
