Eileen was born Aug. 6, 1920, to Daniel and Louise (Schultz) Nauenburg in Platte County. On Jan. 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Emil Kubicek at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. They made their home on a farm north of Shelby. To this union one son was born. Emil passed away in Jan. of 1964. On Feb. 12, 1966, she was united in marriage to Edward Schaf at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. They made their home in Shelby. Edward passed away Dec. 31, 2002. Eileen worked as a checker for the Jack and Jill grocery for many years and volunteered at the Shelby Senior Center. She was a member of St. Anne's Guild, Shelby American Legion Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to daily Masses, playing cards, dancing and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers. Survivors include two grandsons, Jason (Michelle) Kubicek of Fremont and Chad (Shelley) Kubicek of Shawnee, Kan.; three great grandchildren, Nathanial, MaKaya and Dacia Kubicek; one sister, Margaret Harris of Aurora; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Louise Nauenburg; husbands, Edward Schaf and Emil Kubicek; son, David Kubicek; six brothers and three sisters. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family and church.
