Read More	daughter of Martin and Martha (Borcher) Maas∼* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Elaine Anna (Maas) Lafrenz was born On Wednesday; May 31, 1922 in Scribner; Dodge County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of: Martin George and Martha Sophia (Borcher) Maas. Elaine was a 1939 graduate of Scribner High School. After graduation she was employed as a secretary at Rath Packing in Waterloo; Black Hawk County, Iowa. She married Harry Jr. Lafrenz, on June 12, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa. They began their life together in Hudson, Iowa and subsequently moved to the west coast, Des Moines, Cedar Falls, back to Hudson, then to Mesa, Arizona and finally in 1971 to Oskaloosa, where Harry was employed with J.P. Summers Cheverolet/Buick. In 1972 they purchased the dealership which became Lafrenz Motors. Elaine worked as a secretary for Clow Valve Company. Harry passed away in 2002 and Elaine continued her ownership of the dealership until 2005 when the business was sold. At that time Elaine moved to Harrison, Arkansas to be near her daughter. She resided there until February of 2010 when she moved to Columbia to be near family. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf, Mahaska State Bank Ladies Investment Club, and her friends coffee group. Elaine Anna (Maas) Lafrenz, age 88, passed away on passed away on Saturday; September 18, 2010 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia; Boone County, Missouri. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her two daughters: Cynthia K. (Dwight) Miller of Harrison, Arkansas and Brenda J. Crane of State Center, Iowa. Her three sons: James L. (Fonda) Lafrenz of Hiawatha, Kansas; David E. (Karen) Lafrenz of Columbia, Missouri and Nile K. Lafrenz of St. George, Utah. Her ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents;, her husband; her daughter: Jean Ann Lafrenz; a grandson: Adam Lafrenz; a great granddaughter: Courtney Ann Simon; her brothers and sisters: Ewald Maas, Roma Samland, Waldemar Maas, Irene Stowell, Dale Maas. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Friday; September 24, 2010 at the Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo, Iowa. Interment will be at the Hudson Cemetery in Hudson; Black Hawk County, Iowa. Memorials in Elaine's honor may be donated to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Saint John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa and/or the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Harrison, Arkansas.
