Description	:	Eldon L. Locke, 83, died June 24, 2007, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. today, June 28, 2007, at the Temple Baptist Church. Burial followed the services in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Eldon was born Oct. 21, 1923 on the Foster Farm east of El Dorado, the son of G.W. and Vaneta (Foster) Locke. Eldon was born Oct. 21, 1923 on the Foster Farm east of El Dorado, the son of G.W. and Vaneta (Foster) Locke. He had lived in Butler County all of his life. He attended the DeGraff schools and graduated from the El Dorado High School. On Nov. 22, 1941 he married Frances Dwyer in the First Christian Church of El Dorado. He loved to farm and ranch. For many years he was a partner with his father breeding Red Poll Cattle. They showed these cattle at many state fairs and won a Grand Champion Award. He loved horses especially his quarter horse, Buck. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He loved to work and be with his family and friends. Survivors include: his wife, Frances of the home; one son, Richard C. and wife Sue Locke of Ozark, Mo.; one brother, Rev. Kenneth Locke of Hastings, Neb.; one sister, Wilma Watkins of Prescott, Ariz.; grandchildren and their families, Chris and Allison Locke and children Levi, Ryan, Chase, and Christian; Kelli and David Bullock and children Brady, Chris, and Drake; Gary and Kristine Locke and children Adam, Amber, and Erin; Steven and Irene Locke and children Mathew, Joshua, Jeremy and Jonathan; Keith and Marsha Locke and children, Lexi, Whitney and Madison; Paige and Phil Toates and children Chandler, Connor and Cooper; a daughter-in-law, Dana and husband Jerry McEachern.
