Description	:	Eldon S. Bertsch Eldon S. Bertsch, 63, Tulare, died Monday, Oct. 16, 1989, near his farm. Eldon Simion Bertsch was born July 25, 1926, at Redfield, the son of Jacob and Katherina (Schortzman) Bertsch. He moved with his family to the Miller area as a small child. He graduated from Miller High school in 1944. He then played in a band for dances, farmed and worked for a short time at the Redfield State Hospital and School. Bertsch, 63, Tulare, died Monday, Oct. 16, 1989, near his farm. Eldon Simion Bertsch was born July 25, 1926, at Redfield, the son of Jacob and Katherina (Schortzman) Bertsch. He moved with his family to the Miller area as a small child. He graduated from Miller High school in 1944. He then played in a band for dances, farmed and worked for a short time at the Redfield State Hospital and School. He married Erma Jean Eads July 16, 1958 at Huron. They lived in Miller until 1962, when they moved to a farm north of St. Lawrence, and in 1965 they moved to a farm north of Vayland. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Erma Bertsch, Tulare; three sons, Paul Eldon, Huron, Monte Alan, Bakersfield, CA, and Mark Ray Jacob, Tulare; two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Charlene) Kittelson, Yankton, and Anita Bertsch, Bath; one grandchild; two brothers, John E., Miller and Ewald, St. Lawrence; one sister, Mrs. Hertha (Hattie) Brueggeman, Miller; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church of the Nazarene, Miller, with the Rev. Dave Baker officiating. Burial was in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
