Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. The Rev. Gary Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller with Reck Funeral Home in Miller in charge of arrangements. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Hertha Hattie Bertsch was born Nov. 9, 1910, to Jacob and Kathrina (Schorzman) Bertsch near Menno in Hutchinson County. She lived on a farm southeast of Menno and attended school through the eighth grade. She moved to Rockham and later to Miller in 1926. She graduated from Miller High School in 1930. She was a clerk and bookkeeper in the Schofield Grocery and Hardware Store. She married Albert Myers in September 1936. They lived on a farm north of Miller. They moved into Miller in 1964. He died in 1965. She worked in the Hand County Treasury Office for several years. She married Leonard Brueggeman in 1968. She worked for Tri-State Insulation for 10 years. They spent several winters in Florida, Texas and Arizona. He died in 1981. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Hope Circle, Extension Club for more than 60 years, Hand County Senior Citizens and card clubs. Survivors include two step-daughters, Audrey (Derry) Hochhalter of Vermillion, and Dianne (Joseph) Aesoph of Seneca; three stepsons, Eugene (Marlene) Brueggeman of Miller, Vincent (Maxine) Brueggeman of Watertown, and Dale Brueggeman of Miller: 21 step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
