He was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Gerald, Ohio, the son of Ferdinand J. and Emilie (Meyer) Bindeman. On June 14, 1936, he married Loretta Meyer and she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 1996. Bindeman, 94, Napoleon, Ohio, died Wednesday afternoon, June 7, 2007, at the Napoleon Lutheran Home. He was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Gerald, Ohio, the son of Ferdinand J. and Emilie (Meyer) Bindeman. On June 14, 1936, he married Loretta Meyer and she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 1996. Eldor was associated with his father and brother in the Bindeman Hardware and Implement business of Gerald, Ohio. He was in charge of maintenance for the Gerald Telephone Co. and the Gerald Light and Power Co. He was a clerk at the Tanner's Grocery, Napoleon, Ohio. He retired in 1974 from the Home Oil Company, Napoleon, Ohio, where he was general manager of Service Station Supply. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio, where he served as Vice Chairman, Trustee, Chairman of the School Board, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, member of the Building and Finance Committee, President of Fellowship Club and Sunday School Teacher. He served as Vice Chairman, Membership Secretary and Treasurer of the Lutheran Laymen's League, Northwest Ohio Zone. He also volunteered at the Napoleon Lutheran Home and Country View Haven. Surviving are one daughter, Karen Miller, Napoleon, Ohio; one sister, Christine Wiemken, Ridgeville Corners, Ohio; two sons-in-law, Gary Miller, Napoleon, and David Namey, Pittsburgh, Pa.; three granddaughters, Tami (Gino) Crognale, Alicia (Marc) Miller and Laura Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Gino and Joseph Crognale, Justin, April, Alaina and Nicolas Miller. He was preceded in death also by one son, David Bindeman; one daughter, Wanda Namey; one grandson, Jerry Abrams; one brother, Edwin; and two sisters, Caroline Meyer and Regina Rohrs. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio, with Rev. Peter Marcis and Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. Interment will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery.
