Description	:	Mrs. Eleanor Ceceilia Martinson, 89, of McPherson, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at McPherson Hospital, McPherson, Kansas Mrs. Martinson was born in rural Oberlin, Kansas on October 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Rhoda Agnes (Duffy) Kean. She attended Salina grade schools and graduated from the Salina High School, Salina, Kansas. She then attended Brown Mackie Business College, Salina, Kansas. Read More	Mrs. Eleanor Ceceilia Martinson, 89, of McPherson, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at McPherson Hospital, McPherson, Kansas Mrs. Martinson was born in rural Oberlin, Kansas on October 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Rhoda Agnes (Duffy) Kean. She attended Salina grade schools and graduated from the Salina High School, Salina, Kansas. She then attended Brown Mackie Business College, Salina, Kansas. She was a former member of New Gottland Lutheran Church McPherson, KS. She was currently a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Through the years she served both churches in many capacities Eleanor was a homemaker and was a cook for McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas for several years and a cook for the Bethany Home, Lindsborg, Kansas. She was a member of the Buzzing Bee's Club, and active in other community affairs She was the widow of Ernest Lloyd Willard Martinson. Eleanor C. Kean was united in marriage to Ernest Lloyd Willard Martinson on December 20, 1941 at the Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Salina, Kansas. He died on December 16, 1999. Survivors include: Daughter: "CeCe" (Gene) Shannon of Salina, Kansas; Son: Glenn (Pamelia) Martinson of McPherson, Kansas. Sister: Helen Lopshire of Salina, Kansas. 4- Grandchildren 10- Great-Grandchildren 6 - Great-great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; her sisters, Janice Carter, Leona Kean, E. Fern Martinson, Edith Smith, and Virginia Hulse; her brothers, Frank A. and Loren A. Kean. Friends are invited to call, Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Kansas Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at New Gottland Lutheran Church, McPherson, KS, with Reverend Harry Grinstad officiating.
