She was the daughter of Francois Benjamin "Brock" LeBlanc (born 1852 in Hubbard's Point, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada; died August 11, 1941 in Hubbard's Point, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada) and Francoise Mius (born December 9, 1852 in Sluice Point, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada; died March 8, 1940 in Hubbard's Point, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada). Francois and Francoise had thirteen children, all born between 1876 and 1898. Her father was very strict with his daughters while they were growing up, but accepted their desires to journey off into America when they became of age, albeit giving them a hard time about it. Eleanor and her husband Albert Frank Doucette were married June 7, 1914 in Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA by Wakefield priest William Flynn. She then became Eleanor Doucette. The two had five children -- Jeanne Eleanor Doucette, Gladys Frances Doucette, Roy Bennie Doucette, William Douglas Doucette, and Ralph Albert Doucette. Eleanor died March 9, 1943 in Medford, Massachusetts. She was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Woburn on March 11, 1943. Location in the cemetery is Section K Range 17 Lot 11. Eleanore was known for her kindness. Her daughter Jeanne (born August 24, 1931 in Winchester, Massachusetts; died May 6, 2006 in Exeter, New Hampshire), my grandmother, recalled that when she was nine years old, her mother died. Other family members testified to the cause of death, but some people were told different things. My grandmother was very close with her mother, and would go on trips to Hubbard's Point in Nova Scotia with her, along with Eleanore's sister Celina and her grandson, Herman Ingersoll Jr., in addition to another sister Alma LeBlanc (m. Frank Norton) and her son, Frank Norton Jr. It actually turns out that Eleanor died when Jeanne was 11, in March 1943. On the 1920 United States Census, Alma LeBlanc (Eleanor's sister) is found living in her house in Winchester, in addition to Eleanor's husband Albert and their children Gladys, Ralph and Roy. A man named Lester Hubbard, who was the first cousin of Jeanne Eleanor Doucette (and due to an interesting family tree was also the first cousin of Jeanne's father Albert), was also living with the family. Lester Hubbard was the son of Mary Emily "Millie" LeBlanc and of Jean Simon Hubbard. Millie is the sister of Eleanor. Alma and Lester both immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1916. Eleanor worked as a mill operative at the time of her marriage on June 7th, 1914 in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She was married to her husband by the Wakefield priest, William H. Flynn. She died in the morning at her home, 10 Henry St. in Medford. The cause of her death, according to her death certificate, was attributed to myxedema. According to various family members, she died from kidney failure or childbirth related causes. Eleanore died in the morning at her home, 10 Henry St. in Medford. Doucette, a former resident of Woburn who went to Medford to live three years ago, died this morning at her home; 10 Henry Street, South Medford, following a long illness. She was a native of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank LeBlanc. She came to the United States to live many years ago, settled in Woburn and made her home here until three years ago when she went to Medford to reside. She is survived by her husband, Albert F. Doucette of Medford, two daughters, Mrs. George Olson of Woburn and Miss Jean Doucette of Medford, three sons, Ralph of Woburn, Roy of Medford and Private William Doucette, United States Army, now stationed at Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky; six sisters, Mrs. Celina King of Woburn, Mrs. Simon Hubbard of Woburn, Mrs. Henry White of Malden, Mrs. Frank Norton of Nutley, New Jersey, Mrs. George Doucette of Nova Scotia, and Mrs. James Meuse of Nova Scotia. One brother, Mande LeBlanc of Nova Scotia, and two grandchildren also survive her. The funeral will be held from the Charles A. O'Brien Funeral Home, 89 Montvale Avenue, Woburn, on Thursday morning, March 11th, at 8:15 a. m. and a Solemn High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated at St. Charles Church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, East Woburn. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 11 p. m.
