For her the dial stopped at 7 a.m. Sunday at the St. Clare hospital in Fort Benton. In ill health for a long time, it never deterred her in any way from filling her niche in daily life with a smile that banished discouragement. Because of this happy characteristic the number of her friends was circumscribed only by the limit of her acquaintances. Well might it be said of her, "she lived in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not figures on a dial." Frankie Murtaugh was born at Cottage Grove, Wis. She spent her early life at the place of her birth and later went to South Dakota where she taught school for two years, after which she returned to Wisconsin. She came to Big Sandy in 1901 and has resided here since that time. For many years she was an inseparable companion of her aunt, Miss Eleanor Murtaugh. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: William Coghlinughlin, Cavour, S. D.; Mrs. Burch Shanahan, White Bluff, Wash.; Mrs. Florence Robinson, Billings; Mrs. George Costella, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Lillian Wilson, Carthage, S. D.; Mrs. Laura Maag, Cavour, S. D.; John C. Coughlin, Great Falls; Mrs. Lottie Walker, Bozeman; Mrs. Genevieve Fernan, Laramie, Wyo. She is also survived by other relatives, including Leona and Virginia Swanson of Fort Benton. A host of personal friends also mourn her departure. Funeral services were held in Fort Benton Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery at Fort Benton.
