Description	:	MISSION-- Eleanor Ruth Chestnut, 85, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Overland Park. Mrs. Chestnut was born Jan. 30, 1926 near Abilene, the daughter of David and Alice Minter. She graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1944 where she earned a teaching certificate. She later earned credits at Kansas State College. She taught at various schools in Clay County in the late 1940s and married William B. Chestnut in 1948. Read More	MISSION-- Eleanor Ruth Chestnut, 85, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Overland Park. Mrs. Chestnut was born Jan. 30, 1926 near Abilene, the daughter of David and Alice Minter. She graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1944 where she earned a teaching certificate. She later earned credits at Kansas State College. She taught at various schools in Clay County in the late 1940s and married William B. Chestnut in 1948. Soon thereafter, they moved to the Kansas City area and she became a homemaker. She was a sales representative for World Book encyclopedia and Childcraft publications. She had been an active member of the Village Presbyterian Church since 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold Minter; and one son, Kelly Chestnut. Survivors include her husband, William Chestnut; two sons, Gayle Chestnut and wife Becky of Albuquerque, N.M. and Kevin Chestnut of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Agnes Faulkner of Abilene and Luella Martin of Clay Center; and one brother, the Rev. Curtis Minter of Loveland, Colo. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village and a graveside service will be held at Republican City Cemetery, Clay Center, at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Village Presbyterian Church or to the charity of donors choice. Arrangements are by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri.
