He was a son of the late Joseph A. Bishop and Mary Ann Pullin Bishop and was born in Highland County Feb. 18, 1878. He resided at Churchville and the Mossy Creek section for a number years and had been living with Richard B. Propst at Harrisonburg for two and one-half years. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Methodist Church. His wife, Mrs. Pollie Botkin Bishop, died Feb. 27, 1963. Surviving are five children, Thomas J. Bishop, Mt Crawford, Mrs. John Leach, Headwaters, Mrs. W.L. Neil, McDowell, Mrs. C.C. Hodge, Warm Springs, and Roy Bishop of McDowell. He also leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday) at Headwaters Presbyterian Church with burial in Headwaters Cemetery.
