Hinrichs of Monticello died Tuesday, Aug. 8,1995 at the Senior Home, Monticello following an extended illness. Elise D. Doden was born April 12,1907 at Langworthy, the daughter of John Friedrich Jr. and Talke Margaretha Dirks Doden. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. Elise D. Doden and Tobias Hinrichs were married Sept. 29,1926 at the Doden family home near Langworthy. The couple farmed the Hinrichs family farm in Wayne Township, Jones County. In 1955, they retired from farming and moved to Monticello. Tobias preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1975. She moved to the Senior Home in 1991. Elise Hinrichs was baptized and confirmed at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church and is a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She helped organize a monthly social fellowship for Senior Citizens of Monticello at St. Matthew's. This group has been active for over 25 years. Survivors include four children: Norman (Betty), Harvey (Millie), both of Monticello; LeRoy (Janet) of Hampton and a daughter, Betty (Jerry) Andresen of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Hannah Brackens of Monticello. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and a great-grandchild. Casket bearers were Jerry Hinrichs, Terry Hinrichs, Steve Hinrichs, Jeff Hinrichs and Scott Andresen. Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
