Hannah received her education in the Langworthy Schools. Hannah Doden and Henry J. Brockens were married August 27, 1930 at the Doden Family Farm near Langworthy. The couple farmed near Amber for several years and later in Wayne Township. They retired from farming in 1955 and moved to Monticello. John preceded here in death on December 21, 1973. She was the daughter of John F. and Talka M. Dirks, Doden. Hannah received her education in the Langworthy Schools. Hannah Doden and Henry J. Brockens were married August 27, 1930 at the Doden Family Farm near Langworthy. The couple farmed near Amber for several years and later in Wayne Township. They retired from farming in 1955 and moved to Monticello. John preceded here in death on December 21, 1973. She moved to the care center in June of 2003. Hannah was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and the ELCW. She was baptized August 14, 1909 and Confirmed her faith on April 5, 1925 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. Hannah loved to garden and she adored her family. The family would like to thank everyone at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care during the past 3 years. They would also like to thank Past Charles Johnson his many visits and support, Above and Beyond Hospice especially Lollie, Pamela and Carrie and Rev. Ed Moreano, for their care and comfort and for during Hannahs final days. Hannah (Doden) Brockens, 97, of Monticello; Jones County, Iowa passed away on Friday morning; February 16, 2007 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Those left to mourn her passing are 3 daughters, Velma Zumbach, Monticello, Doris (Gary) Yahnke, Marion, Linda (Gary) Smith, Marengo, ten Grandchildren, twenty-two great-Grandchildren and nine great-great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband. Henry, a son-in-law, Louis Zumbach, a grandson-in-law, Glen Wilkes, four Brothers and three Sisters. May they rest in peace. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; February 19, 2007 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Tuesday morning, February 20, 2007 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Monticello with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating at the services. Interment will be in the Wayne Zion Cemetery in Monticello, Iowa. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.
