Rev. James A. Siefkes officiated with interment at the Wayne Zion Lutheran cemetery. Born Feb. 18, 1882, in Mount Olive, Ill., she was the daughter of Casper and Talke Johnson Husmann. Her childhood was spent in Wayne township. She was married to Herman Cordes in 1900 and the couple lived on a farm in Cass township. Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1922.Having been bedfast since November 1955, her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Cordes, stayed in her home with her until May 1 of this year, when she moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Wink, of Monticello. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. She is survived by two sons, Carl F. Cordes, Anamosa, and John T. Cordes, De Forest, Wis; two daughters, Mrs. John (Hanna) Weers, Anamosa, and Mrs. Eugene (Hermina) Wink, Monticello; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; three brothers, John and henry Husman, Monticello and Frank Husman, Center Junction; five sisters, Mrs. Henry Balster, Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. E.J. Huls and Mrs. George Hansen, Manchester, Mrs. Garret Bartels, Monticello and Mrs. William Zimmerman, Anamosa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, who died in infancy, and two brothers. Casket bearers ere Carl Hansen, Carl Huls, Clifford Zimmerman, Lavern Bartels, Earl Husman and Robert Husman, all nephews of the deceased.
