Weers died at the Anamosa Community hospital late Monday afternoon following a brief illness. She was born in Cass township, Jones county, Iowa, Aug. 6, 1904, the daughter of Herman and Elise Husman Cordes; she received her early education in the Cass Center school. Hannah Cordes and John H. Weers were united in marriage March 12, 1924, in the Wayne Zion Lutheran church. The couple made their home on a farm in Cass township until moving to Anamosa in 1947. Mr. Weers preceded her in death Out. 2S, 1989. She is survived by six children: two sons,: Vernon and Lorance, Anamosa and four daughters, Mrs. Reginald (Jeanette) Shields, Mrs. Louis (Margaret Ann) Siebels, Mrs. Clifford (Lorna) Templeman and Mrs. Thomas (Gloria) Byrne all of Anamosa. Also surviving, are 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Eugene Wink of Monticello and a brother, John Cordes, Windsor, Wis. In addtion to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran church Thursday morning, June 16, at 10:30 p.m. with interment in Riverside cemetery. The Rev. Marvin P. Mueller will officiate at the services. Her casket bearers and honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons, Jerry Weers, Stuart Weers, Dennis Weers, Larry Siebels, Mark Siebels, Steven Siebels, Gary Weers, Alan Weers, Gordon Siebels, Scott Walton and Craig Walton.
