Lomas in this city, Saturday, March 25, 1911, at about three o’clock in the afternoon, She was waiting to see the physician when Seth overtook her and she passed quietly and quickly away before medicine could be given her. Mrs. Spargur had long been a sufferer with an affected heart and had been taking treatment in Omaha, when she called on Dr. Lomas with regard to a prescription which had been given her and also to consult with him. She was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Wickersham and a trained nurse, Mrs. Fryer was in Dr. Lomas’s office when they arrived. Mrs. Spargur was the aunt of Ross A. Moore, was discussing his death which had occurred on the same day, when her own demise ensued. It is thought that the sudden shock of her nephew’s death, coupled with the affliction which she bore, had hastened her own end. Elia Moore was born in Highland County, Ohio in the year of 1855 on December 17, and was therefore 55 years, 3 months, and 8 days old at the time of her death. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Page County where she resided most of her life. Her later years were spent in Montgomery County in and near the city of Villisca. On February 18, 1875, she was married to Alexander Spargur and to this union five children were born, one child dying in infancy. She is survived by three daughters and one son. They are: Mrs. C. C. Hall of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. A. M. Cummings, Mrs. Lester Wichersham and the son, Wayne of Villisca. Three sisters and four brothers also survive her, Mrs. N. C. Winter of Villisca, Mrs. J. W. Beaver, of Villisca, Mrs. M. C. McCoy, living six miles south of here; Austin Moore, living five miles south of Villisca, Benjamin Moore, living east of here; J. W. Moore of Villisca, and Joshua Moore of Squirrel, Idaho. Funeral services were held at half past one o’clock at the home on East Fifth Street, Tuesday afternoon, the obsequies being in charge of Rev. W. T. Loomis of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Villisca, Iowa, Thursday, March 30, 1911, page 1 & 4 Eliza Lyde Moore, daughter of John B. Bowman was born December 17, 1855 in Adams County, Ohio and died March 25, 1911 in Villisca, Montgomery, Iowa, she dropped dead as she walked out of the doctor's office, heart disease, W. A. Lomas, M.D. She was buried December 28, 1911 in Villisca Cemetery, J. L. Smith, undertaker. She married Alexander W. Spargur February 8, 1875.
