Description	:	Born Elizabeth Ann Bamert on July 6, 1933 in Ione, CA to the late Loren & Blanche Bamert, Betty Ann passed away peacefully on August 18, 2014 in her home outside Ione, CA, after an 11 year battle with cancer. Read More	Born Elizabeth Ann Bamert on July 6, 1933 in Ione, CA to the late Loren & Blanche Bamert, Betty Ann passed away peacefully on August 18, 2014 in her home outside Ione, CA, after an 11 year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Betty Ann attended elementary school in Ione and went on to graduate from Lodi High School in 1951. She then married Ron Curran and together they raised 6 children. She lived most of her 81 years in the Ione area. Betty Ann’s career was primarily homemaking, until she became a real estate broker in the early 70’s. She served as a board member for the Ione Unified School District for 12 years and was a volunteer tutor for the Adult Literacy Program, helping teach adults to read. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Buena Vista Historical Society for over 50 years. Growing up on her family’s ranch in Jackson Valley she enjoyed spending her summers in the mountains near Kirkwood and Blue Lakes helping her father and grandfather with their cattle operations. She continued to spend time in the mountains most summers for the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron and her sister, Pat Borth. She is survived by her brother Tom Bamert (Beverly), her brother in law Norman Borth, and her aunt Leah Hesseltine. She is also survived by her sons: Rich (Maureen), Ron (Cynthia), Pat (Janie), Tim (Jill), and Shawn (Maria), all of Ione, as well as her daughter Marge Vicari (Dave) of Jackson. Betty Ann leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a Vigil Prayer Service on Friday, August 22, 2014, 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday August 23, 2014, 10:00 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ione Catholic Cemetery.
