Description	:	Elizabeth (Gaddy) Grantham, daughter of Ithamar and Charity (Pitman) Gaddy and wife of Owen Grantham (1813-1882). Her husband is buried in the Fairmont Cemetery in Fairmont, Robeson County, North Carolina, beside his second wife, Abigail Powell. The dates above are from the large Gaddy Family Memorial Marker at the front of the cemetery. The death dates are the same on both markers. But this birthdate was used since there is no birth date on her tombstone, rather her age is given in years, months, and days. That places her birthdate a year or two off from the date on the memorial... FROM ELIZABETH'S TOMBSTONE: Died Sept. 9, 1846 Aged 33 Years 4 M. & 9 Days. FROM LARGE GADDY FAMILY MEMORIAL MARKER: Daughter of Ithamar & Charity Gaddy. BORN May 19, 1811, DIED Sept. 9th, 1846. If Elizabeth's birthdate is correct on the large family marker, her age on her grave marker is off by a year or two. Or vice versa. Elizabeth (Gaddy) Grantham daughter of Ithamar and Charity has been confused in various publications and charts with the Elizabeth Ann Gaddy (1818-1897) who married Elias Grantham. They are NOT the same person. Elizabeth Ann who married Elias Grantham was likely a daughter of an older brother of the Elizabeth who married Owen Grantham.
