ELIZABETH PARKER Elizabeth Cole was born in Blakesburg, Iowa, April 3, 1857, and died in Chariton, Iowa, January 21, 1922. She grew to womanhood in Corydon, Iowa. She was married to Elisha Hickle on Sept. 12, 1878. To this union five children were born, one, Charles, dying in infancy. ELIZABETH PARKER Elizabeth Cole was born in Blakesburg, Iowa, April 3, 1857, and died in Chariton, Iowa, January 21, 1922. She grew to womanhood in Corydon, Iowa. She was married to Elisha Hickle on Sept. 12, 1878. To this union five children were born, one, Charles, dying in infancy. The sorrowing children are: Alonzo and John Hickle, and Mrs. Ethel Holmes, all of Promise City, and Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Chariton; also 21 grandchildren. Her children were all present and cared for her during the last brief illness with anemia. Years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hickle were affiliated with the Mt. Carmel Evangelical church. About six years ago she united with the Nazarene church in Chariton. On Sept. 10, 1897, Elisha Hickle died, leaving the cares of a family. After several years she married David Parker, who survives. Of late years she has resided here, where she could be near her children. She has been a careful and faithful worker, always at her post until about six weeks ago, when ill health kept her at home. She will be missed by her children and friends, whom she told that she was ready, willing and glad to go when her Master should call. Funeral services were held at the Nazarene church Monday forenoon, Jan. 23, Rev. E. R. Borton, officiating and interment was made in the Norwood cemetery.
