She was married to William C. Long at Bellfountaine, Ohio. As the result of this union, three sons and seven daughters were given. Of these, four daughters and two sons have passed to the other side. Mrs. Long came with her husband to Iowa in company with fourteen or fifteen other families, who in the early days settled in Cedar County. She was among the oldest settlers. After about two weeks illness this aged woman passed away on March 15th at 6 o'clock in the morning. For many years Mrs. Long has been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, continuing her relation until her death. She was buried from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Smith, in this city. Services were conducted by Rev. Frank P. Shaffer of the Methodist church. The interment was at Rochester. William C. and Elizabeth Covert were married 10 Sept 1836 at Bellfountaine, Logan county, Ohio
