Description	:	Found in a scrapbook located at the Cedar County Historical Society Museum, Tipton, Cedar county, Iowa. Would have appeared in the Tipton Advertiser. The death of Mr. Long removes from our midst one of Cedar county's oldest citizens. He came from Virginia to this county in 1838, settling in Iowa Township, where he resided until fifteen years ago, when he came to Tipton and has lived here ever since. He possessed an iron constitution and retained his vigor and activity until a few years ago, when he sustained a paralytic stroke and never entirely recovered from it. He was the father of eight children, five of whom with an aged wife survive him. The funeral occurred on the 30th ult., and the remains were laid to rest in the Rochester cemetery.
