Description	:	Elizabeth Stodden Apr. 19, 1921 - Dec. 28, 2015 Elizabeth Dorothy Stodden was born to Rudolph and Esther (Neubaum) Albertsen in Mapleton. A lifelong member of the Mapleton community, Elizabeth graduated from Mapleton High School in 1939. She married Fred Stodden on May 25, 1939, in Vermillion, South Dakota. They operated Sunrise Dairy Farm east of Mapleton until 1942. In 1943 they began farming in the Danbury area. They also farmed at Oto, Climbing Hill, and Smithland. In 1977 they moved into Mapleton. Read More	Elizabeth Stodden Apr. 19, 1921 - Dec. 28, 2015 Elizabeth Dorothy Stodden was born to Rudolph and Esther (Neubaum) Albertsen in Mapleton. A lifelong member of the Mapleton community, Elizabeth graduated from Mapleton High School in 1939. She married Fred Stodden on May 25, 1939, in Vermillion, South Dakota. They operated Sunrise Dairy Farm east of Mapleton until 1942. In 1943 they began farming in the Danbury area. They also farmed at Oto, Climbing Hill, and Smithland. In 1977 they moved into Mapleton. They enjoyed spending evenings square dancing. Fred passed away on February 14, 1989. Elizabeth was an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Mapleton, filling various offices throughout her lifetime with the Women’s Fellowship. She graciously took care of the memorials at funerals in her church, a task she gladly inherited from her mother who had previously been in charge of the memorials. Elizabeth looked forwarded to eating breakfast at the Beef N Brew. She spent many hours doing laundry, cooking and sewing for her large family. She loved caring for her children and spending time with them and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family members left to treasure their memories of Elizabeth include a son and his wife, Dale and Linda Stodden of Colorado Springs, CO; five daughters and their spouses, Joyce and Joy Ritchie of West Des Moines, Marilyn and Roger Hladik of Anthon, Karen and Arden Larsen of Whiting, Dee and Curt Havick of Mapleton, and Lois and Mike Meyer of Mapleton; a son-in-law, Keith Allman of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren, Kevin Allman, Chris Allman, Kimberly Rose, Julie Kobernusz, Lisa Hoth, Gloria Belvins-Paasch, Mark Hladik, Leann Hladik, Chad Havick, Amy Havick, Doug Havick, Kenton Jacobson, Darin Jacobson, and Kristen Hanna; 24 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death of her parents, Rudolph and Esther Albertsen, a daughter, Patricia Allman, two grandsons, Scott Havick and Kyle Stodden, and two brothers, Willis Albertsen and Loren Albertsen.
