Curts Elizabeth Frances Curtis(?), daughter of James A. and Millie Hulett, was born in Crawford County, Indiana, Feb. 24, 1857, and died May 22, 1938, at her home in Birmingham, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 28 days. She was married to Samuel Thomas Curts April 17, 1882, at Brandenburg, Ky. To this union were born six children, three of whom passed away in infancy. Curts Elizabeth Frances Curtis(?), daughter of James A. and Millie Hulett, was born in Crawford County, Indiana, Feb. 24, 1857, and died May 22, 1938, at her home in Birmingham, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 28 days. She was married to Samuel Thomas Curts April 17, 1882, at Brandenburg, Ky. To this union were born six children, three of whom passed away in infancy. In 1888 they moved to Missouri remaining there three years, then moved to Birmingham in 1891, this vicinity since being their home. Mrs. Curts was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of West Union and has lived a Christian life. During the war she was most enthusiastic worker for the Red Cross, happy to be permitted to do her share. She was a charter member of the local unit of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and has remained a loyal member of that organization. She consistently maintained a cheerful disposition and always enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors. She is survived by three children: Alva L., of Des Moines, Mrs. Lulu Boley of Packwood and Clarence C. of Birmingham; also six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one half brother, A.L. Hulett, of Oakland City, Indiana. Since the death of her husband, Sept. 15, 1935, she has made her home with her son, Clarence. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of the Rev. Fred Skewes of Ft. Madison, a former pastor. Interment in the Maple Hill cemetery.
