She removed with her parents when about four years old to Michigan, and from there to Elgin, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She was converted when about 15 years old and joined the Baptist church. She was united in marriage to Christopher Kingsley September 11, 1866 in Elgin, Illinois. They came to Kansas in 1872. She and her husband united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Lima, where the latter was converted in 1880. She remained a faithful member until her translation to the Church Triumphant November 28, 1905. She leaves a husband, one adopted daughter, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn her going. Mrs. Kingsley's life motto was to be good and do good unto all. She was ever an inspiration to those about her. She loved the pure, the good, the beautiful. Her life was given up in doing for serving others. Though the form we loved is hidden from our sight, her spirit lives in our lives and is a part of us. The feet that were so tired and weary are walking the golden streets. The hands that smoothed our brow in sickness are folded cold and white. The lips that kissed away our sorrow are singing in Paradise. She is not dead but sleepth. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
