Description	:	Fraser - Simon Fraser was born in Canada Oct. 15, 1840; died at his home Aug. 28, 1924, being 83 years, 10 months, 13 days old. When a small boy he came with his parents to Illinois. Feb. 22, 1867, he was united in marriage to Alma E. Greene. To this union 7 children were born: Mrs. Frank Leibengood, Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. J. M. Howard, Mrs. John McQuilkin, Ralph, Lloyd, Mark, all of whom survice him. Also 6 grand children. In 1873 he moved to Brown county, Kans., where he has since resided. He underwent all the hardship... He underwent all the hardship inciednt to pioneer life. He was a man universally respected, held many positions of trust. Served on school board during his entire life while on the farm. Served as county commissioner a number of years. Served as sheriff of Brown county 4 years, city marshal several years. He was always cheerful, kindly, industrious, loved, idolized by his family, the entire community. The love of the country, farm was so great for him that he had planned to move back to the farm to end his days, amid surroundings he loved so well. Always active, industrious, he visited his farm the day previous to his death. Wednesday morning, about 10 o'clock, in the presence of his wife, 2 sons, he passed away. The writer of these notes could say no more for Simon Fraser than that his greatest pleasure was in doing for, helping others. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the home, conducted by Rev. L. L. Hassenpflug, Rev. E. T. Rice, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Harpster, Miss Nannie Ham, W. C. Fowler sang. Body bearers were Dana, Hollis Howard, Robert Davis, Harlan McQuilken, John Collins, Ken Fraser. Burial was in Hiawatha cemetery.
