N. S. GILMER IS CALLED HOME Death Brings Relief to Patient Sufferer - Funeral Services From the Methodist Church Mrs. N. S. Gilmer passed away at her home in Albion, Saturday afternoon, November 7th, at 5:45 o'clock, aged 62 years 3 months and 17 days. She had been in poor health for years and for some time her condition had been such that it was known the end was only a question of days. Hannah Elizabeth Kramer was born at Batavia, Iowa, July 20th, 1863, and was next to the oldest of a family of twelve children. She united with the Metodist Episcopal church at Batavia, Iowa, at a very young age and has been a very faithful member ever since. She always attended every service up until about two years ago when, having lost her eye sight a few years before, it was no longer possible for her to attend. She was united in marriage to Nathaniel S. Gilmer at Batavia, Iowa, on October 17th, 1897. To this union were born two daughters, Helen Marie, now Mrs. Arthur Arbuthnot of Albion, and Hazel Barbara who is still at home. Mrs. Gilmer was more than a mother to four other children by a former marriage of Mr. Gilmer, Mrs. Mabel VanSickle, of Laramie, Wyoming; Corporal John Earl Gilmer, now deceased, having been killed in the World war, Floyd G. Gilmer, of Boone, Nebraska, and Mrs. Grace Miller, of Fullerton, Nebraska. She, with the other members of the family, came to Nebraska in the spring of 1903 and lived on a farm near Central City for five years, when they moved to Boone county and have since lived in or near Albion. She was a very patient sufferer for the pat 13 years. She never murmured with all her suffering, always thinking only of the comforts of her family and others, even during the last days of her sickness. She had great comfort in being faithful and devoted to her Heavenly Father and she was prepared to meet him. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, two daughters, two step daughters, one step son, an aged mother, six brothers and four sisters, fourteen step grand-children, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Gilmer was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah lodge of Albion. The funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church, Monday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Chas. G. Gomon, the pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were I. Y. and C. H. Kramer, of Batavia, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Scott and daughter Ruth, of Chapman, Nebraska; Mrs. Helen Avquish, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Dailey, Mr. and Mrs. Merle VanSickle, Mrs. Olive VanSickle, Mr. and Mrs. John Drinkall, Verle and Jewld VanSickle, all of Central City; Mrs. C. B. McMaster of Grand Island and W. H. Kramer, of Norfolk. Card of Thanks We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and words of sympathy during the sickness and death of our dearly beloved wife and mother.
