Fry, a highly respected pioneer settler of Webster county, passed away at her home northwest of Stratford Monday evening after an extended illness. She was 70 years old May 7th. Funeral services will be held at the residence this forenoon at 10:30 o'clock. Stratford Courier May 22, 1913 Obituary Elizabeth Holloway was born in Webster county, North Carolina, May 7, 1843. Her mother died when she was about five or six years of age, and thereafter she made her home with some of her relatives. Three brothers were enlisted in the Confederate army and died during service. The fourth brother was killed at Moingona, Iowa, a number of years ago. The sister, Mrs. Carrie Bass, died at Dayton, Iowa, ten or twelve years ago. She came to Webster county, Iowa, just after the close of the civil war and has lived in this vicinity and Boone county ever since. She was united in marriage to Wm. Fry October 9, 1887. To them was born one son, Fred, who with his father and numerous other relatives and friends mourn her departure. She passed away May 12, 1913, at the age of 70 years and 5 days. The funeral services were held at the residence Thursday forenoon conducted by Rev. H. Albertson, and the remains were laid to rest in the Oakwood cemetery. Card of Thanks.
