Description	:	Mrs. Belle Henry, who has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. F.O. Needels, of 1527 Merchant, passed away at 3:30 pm at Washington, Kansas where she had gone to spend a few days with her nephew, J. T. McCulley. Eliza Isabelle Breckenridge was born in Adams county, Ohio, July 10, 1848, and at the time of her decease (sic) was aged 82 years, 3 months and 21 days. Eliza Isabelle Breckenridge was born in Adams county, Ohio, July 10, 1848, and at the time of her decease (sic) was aged 82 years, 3 months and 21 days. At an early age, she, with her parents moved to Illinois and later to Mahaska county, Iowa where she grew to womanhood near the city of Oskaloosa Iowa. During the Civil War, she, having a fiance and all her brothers in the Union army gave her assistance whenever possible to aid in preparing hospital supplies and food for the Union soldiers who were camped near Oskaloosa or those who happened to make marches through that part of the country. On Oct. 31, 1867 she was married at Oskaloosa to Thomas Boyd Henry of Co. B., 7th Iowa Cavalry. They lived on a farm at that place until the fall of 1869 when they came to Kansas to make their home on a homestead near Washington, in Washington county where they lived for several years. They then moved to Nemaha county where they united with the United Brethren church and were faithful members. The latter part of their married life was spent in Wabaunsee and Greenwood counties. Mr. Henry passed away on July 25, 1919 at the family home in Severy, Kansas. They were members of the G.A.R. and W.R.C. respectively, at Eureka, always loyal to the flag of their country that they had fought to save. Mrs. Henry was the mother of ten children; two died in infancy, five in recent years, and three of whom are left to mourn her departure. Those living are C.N. Henry, of Sugar City, Colo., Stella Henry, of Chanute, Kansas; and Mrs. Maybelle Needels, of Emporia. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Tobitha Starcher, of Gifford, Idaho, ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; also, a host of other relatives and friends. As a "pioneer" mother, Mrs. Henry gave to our state her offering of citizenship and worthy example. She was unselfish to the last, never thinking of herself but living for others. Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm, Nov. 4th at the M.E. church in Eureka by Rev. Otis Bussarb, of Admire. Interment was made in the Greenwood cemetery.
