Description	:	OBITUARY Mrs. Elizabeth J. Raper, whose maiden name was Coffey, was born in Owen county, Indiana, September 12, 1836, and died in Pawnee City, February 10, 1890, aged fifty-three years, four months and 28 days. She was the second child in a family of six, all of whom are now sleeping, parents included, except the youngest son, Andrew N. Coffey of Tecumseh, Nebraska. Mrs. Raper was married to W. B. Raper in St. Joseph, Mo., January 17, 1867 since which time Pawnee and vicinity was her home. She became the mother of five children, one son and four daughters, two of whom... Read More	OBITUARY Mrs. Elizabeth J. Raper, whose maiden name was Coffey, was born in Owen county, Indiana, September 12, 1836, and died in Pawnee City, February 10, 1890, aged fifty-three years, four months and 28 days. She was the second child in a family of six, all of whom are now sleeping, parents included, except the youngest son, Andrew N. Coffey of Tecumseh, Nebraska. Mrs. Raper was married to W. B. Raper in St. Joseph, Mo., January 17, 1867 since which time Pawnee and vicinity was her home. She became the mother of five children, one son and four daughters, two of whom preceded her to the silent land, while three remain mourning their loss. never, perhaps, did any suffering one recieve better attention and care than Sister Raper did from husband and friends in her severe affliction, but all could not ward off death any longer. She had to go. All who know her unite in bearing testimony to her worth as a citizen, neighbor, wife and mother; always cheerful, hopeful and patient even after she had become sorely afflicted with what she knew to be an incurable disease. She obeyed the gospel in Monroe county, Indiana, April, 1857, under the preaching of B. M. Blount, since which time she has been faithful and devoted member of the church of Christ, ever exhibiting in her life those traits and characteristics that adorn and beautify the christian's life. The community in general and the family in paticular, can not help but feel her loss keenly. The funeral was from the Christian church on Wednesday, the 12th, and was very largely attended by our citizens, and friends from the country, and other towns, which showed the esteem in which she was held by all. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."
