Description	:	Elizabeth Reese Mrs. Elizabeth Reese, the fifth in the family of seven children of Gustav Jochem and Henrietta nee Gruebnau, was born on Sept. 3, 1897 in Zeyer, West Prussia, Germany.She was made a Child of God and Heir of Heaven by means of Christian baptism administered in the Lutheran Church in Zeyer, Germany on Sept. 12, 1897 by a pastor Freitag. She emigrated to the United States with her parents in April of 1907 and lived in Chicago, Ill., until April, 1910, when the family moved to Poole, Nebr. She was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church, Roseland, Chicago, Ill. March 20, 1910 by Pastor H. Ohidag Her confirmation memory text was Psalm 121, 7-8. "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve the soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." On March 3, 1920 she was united in marriage to William Henry Reese in her parental home by Pastor A. R. Sanders. The Reeses lived on their farm in the Poole community until November 1960 when they retired and moved to Ravenna. Last Saturday the Reeses had moved to Kearney, Nebr. to spend the winter near some of their children. Some time around 7 a.m. last Tuesday she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away having attained the age of 70 years, two months and 25 days. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers Gustav Jochem and Samuel Jochem and one sister Justine who died when 14 years of age. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband William Reese of Ravenna, Nebr. five sons, Carl Reese and Walter Reese of Iowa City, IA, Edward Reese of Kearney, Nebr., Everett Reese of Lincoln, Nebr. and Arthur Reese of Hebron, Nebr.six daughters; Mrs. Dorothy Heinzman of Newburg, Ore., Margaret, Mrs. Glen Thompson of Iowa City, Ia.; Alice Reese of Kearney, Nebr. Eileen, Mrs. David Metz of Woodriver, Nebr.; Evelyn, Mrs. Harold Kreutzer of Amherst, Nebr. and Loretta, Mrs. Gary Kiper, Cheyenne, Wyo.; 32 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three brothers, George Jochem of Ravenna, Nebr., Karl Jochem of Billings, Mont., and Jacob Jochem of Poole, Nebr. and several nephews, nieces and other relatives, fellow church members and neighbors who deeply sympathize with the immediated family to their sudden bereavement. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, a member of our Bethlehem Lutheran Dorcas Society and the quilting ladies group. While I draw this fleeting breath. Bural was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery southwest of Poole, Nebr.
