Read More	From the Greeley Citizen, Thursday, July 9, 1953, page 1, Transcribed by Linda Berney: Pioneer Woman of This County Expires at 87 - Mrs. Haggstrom Born in Denmark, an Early settler - Mrs. Elizabeth Haggstrom, formerly of Brayton and Wolbach, died here Saturday evening following an illness of several weeks. Her death was attributed to infirmities of old age. She was 87 years old. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Wolbach Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Charles Sheppard, pastor, conducted the services. Burial was in the Wolbach cemetery. Mrs. Haggstrom, who was a native of Denmark, maintained an apartment at the Gannon hotel the last four years. she was born November 9, 1865. She and her husband, the late Robert Haggstrom, farmed in the Brayton vicinity many years ago. Later they moved to a farm near Wolbach. after her husband's death she resided in St. Paul. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Peterson, St. Paul; six sons, Felix, Grand Island; Aaron, Wolbach; Arthur and Fabion, Los Angeles, Calif.; Helge, Salinas, Calif., and August, Arlington; 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ From The Wolbach Messenger, July 9, 1953, page 1, Transcribed by Linda Berney: Elizabeth Haggstrom was the daughter of Lars and Ulrika Larsen, born November 9, 1865 in Skogso, Boden, Sweden and passed away in Shelby, Nebraska on July 4th, 1953 at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 23 days. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Edward Robert Haggstrom. In 1906 they with 6 children moved to America, landing in Boston, then migrating to St. Paul and settling on a farm north of this city; the following year they moved to Greeley County. In 1909 the 7th child was born. They farmed in Greeley county until 1930, at that time they retired and moved to Brayton, Nebr., where they remained until 1944 when they moved to Wolbach. Mr. Haggstrom passed away on March 29, 1950. Mrs. Haggstrom continued living in Wolbach until 1951, when she moved to Greeley to a Rest Home. Mrs. Haggstrom lost her eye sight in 1945 but was still able to keep her own home until failing health caused her to move to Greeley. She was a very loving mother thinking only of the welfare of her children and grandchildren. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Boden, Sweden. She leaves to mourn her passing 1 daughter and 6 sons: Mrs. Robert Peterson, St. Paul, Nebr; Aaron Haggstrom, Wolbach, Nebr. Arthur Haggstrom, Los Angeles, California; Fabian Haggstrom, Los Angeles, California; Felix Hagstrom, Grand Island, Nebr; Helge Haggstrom, Salinas, California; August Haggstrom, Arlington, Nebr; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
