Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Russell. The Revs. Michael Fibranz and Henry Hartman will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Eggert was cremated. Memorials are suggested to the Russell City Library, Deines Cultural Center of Russell or "The Lutheran Hour" radio program. Pohlman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Eggert was born on June 22, 1932, near North Loup to Oscar and Lydia (Foth) Bredthauer. She moved to the Grand Island area when she was 3. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in home economics and a teaching certificate. She married Richard H. Eggert on Aug. 16, 1953, at Grand Island. They lived in Hays, Kan., for several years before moving to Russell in 1965. She was very involved in civic affairs, as well as working part time in her husband's drug store. They retired in 1994. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the library board at Russell and the Central Kansas Library Board. She was a director of the Deines Cultural Center at Russell. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Paul, Kurt..., Keith and James Eggert...; one daughter, Katherine Eggert...; six grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Bredthauer of Grand Island and John Bredthauer of Houston; and two sisters, Barbara Jackman of Los Angeles and Joan Marotz of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Bredthauer, and a sister, Rosemary Schultze. [Note: some locations of survivors omitted for privacy reasons]
