Read More	The Columbus Daily Telegram, January 17, 1933, p. 6, col. 3 Miss Lizzie Aerni Dies – Miss Lizzie Aerni, 61, daughter of Frank Aerni, sr., long time resident of Bismark township, was found dead in bed this morning at 9 a.m. at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lannan, 1653 Twenty-seventh avenue, with whom she had made her home for more than a year. When she died not arise at the usual morning hour for breakfast, her sister, Mrs. Lannan, went to her room to call her, and found that she was dead. They summoned the family physician, and he pronounced her death due to a stroke of apoplexy suffered sometime in the early morning. Miss Aerni had not been in good health for some years, but was able to be around the house daily. She had been left in a semi-invalid condition following two other strokes of apoplexy she suffered 20 and 18 years ago, respectively. She was born on Dec. 8, 1872, in Kriegsteten, Solothurn, Switzerland, and came to America in 1884 with her father and step-mother, her own mother having died when Miss Aerni was a small child. They came directly to Nebraska, and homesteaded on a tract of land in Bismark township, where her father still resides. Miss Aerni spent most of her life in Columbus and Omaha, living the greater part of the time with relatives, and working at various positions in Omaha part of the time. Besides her father, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J. H. Lannan and Miss Frieda Aerni, of Columbus, and Mrs. Ed Eiseman, of Creston; two brothers, Frank Aerni and Albert Aerni, both of Columbus; one half sister, Dr. Clara Aerni, of Columbus, and two half brothers, Jake and Arthur Aerni, both living north of Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Protestant church, with Rev. J. H. Steger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in Columbus cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral home until the hour of the funeral.
